Color Management

This tab contains a list of color settings that are also used in major graphics application. These settings determine the color space and color management policy in the resulting PDF files.

 

Color Management Policy

 

Leave Color Unchanged (RGB)

 

Leaves device-dependent colors unchanged and keeps device-independent colors as the nearest possible equivalent in PDF.

 

Standard RGB Color Space (sRGB)

 

Apply sRGB compliance to device-dependent colors and device-independent colors.

 

Convert All Colors to sRGB

 

Convert CMYK and RGB images to sRGB color space. sRGB allows fast online viewing and low-resolution printing.

 

Convert All Colors to CMYK

 

CMYK is widely used in commercial printing. This option allows you to convert color spaces to CMYK. For users who want to put out a press ready PDF file with CMYK color profile, you need to choose this option, and specify a Color Profile (ICC) in the "CMYK ICC Profile" .

 

Document Rendering Intent

 

Perceptual

 

Perceive colors as natural to the human eye.

 

Saturation

 

Produce vivid colors with accuracy.

 

Absolute Colorimetric

 

Leave colors falling inside destination gamut unchanged.

 

Relative Colorimetric

 

Shift all colors accordingly as per two color spaces.

 

Working Spaces

 

Provide color profile for RGB and CMYK. The color profiles are located in %SystemRoot%\Windows\System32\Spool\Drivers\Color, their extension is .ICC.
